Erika Korowin

Erika Korowin
Erika Korowin

Everyone within DNAngels knows Erika as mommy to Bea – the adorable little Kewpie-Doll-like baby everyone wants to cuddle. Erika was initially nominated for her work as a research assistant, but she recently moved over to work as an Apprentice Angel. Research Team Lead Ashlee says, “Erika has been an incredible asset from the beginning of her time with us at DNAngels. She never shies away from trying to figure out the hard mysteries, the difficult records, or the strange translations. Erika is a great communicator as well, always keeping us updated on her work, her availability, and, most importantly, how adorable her sweet baby is anytime we need!”

Erika is originally from Michigan but currently lives in Santiago, Chile, with her husband and, of course, Baby Bea, where she works at the local University. Erika is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, which comes in handy when we need a translator!   She is currently working with Case Manager Heidi Billingsley Keuper who says, “Erika has impressed me with how thorough and conscientious she is. It is delightful to watch her interact with clients. Her passion for our mission shines through. I am excited to see her grow within the organization!”

Erika’s determination and research skills shine through. She is often able to identify things that others might not and does it all with a personality that is sweet and friendly.

Rose English

Rose English and Jack

Rose English started as a client and decided to give back to the organization that helped her with her story. She is currently a research assistant, and Assistant Team Lead Rachel Kiley Trout says, “I could tell right away that the time-investment in training Rose was going to yield ‘Bull Market Returns’. She is well on her way to becoming a competent Angel-in-Training. She possesses the right combination of intellect, perfectionism, deductive reasoning, resourcefulness, tenacity, empathy, and social skills required by DNAngels.

I know whenever I have Rose assisting on a case, that she is willing to go that extra mile to untangle Ancestry trees with misinformation, seek out elusive matches, or put an anxious client at ease.”  Indeed, many Angels who have been blessed to have Rose working on a case have said that she is welcome to assist them at any time.

Rose is currently retired from over 40 years as an OB/GYN nurse. Rose is a lifelong learner, always striving for new knowledge. She lives with her significant other, Bill, and her beloved Russian Wolfhound, Jack, in NC. Her real name is Sheri, but she chose the name Rose for herself, only later to learn it was the name that her birth mother had given her. She LOVES furniture with Queen Anne legs and also Roses, and they all can be seen displayed throughout her home.
