Amy Frederick

Amy Frederick is a Search Angel. She has always been a person who is quick to offer to help others. Her altruistic nature will keep her fighting for answers for anyone who reaches out to her with a problem or mystery. Amy’s love of genealogy began with the search for her husband’s birth paternal family. While on an anniversary trip to Delray Beach, her husband awoke her at 5:30 a.m. to tell her his results were in. By the time their flight touched back down in Ohio, Amy had figured out who his birth father was and began reaching out to every single person on social media with the surname. Two months later, she received a reply from his half sister, and they confirmed it with a half sibling test. Because of her searching, Amy and her husband have both his adoptive family and birth paternal family in their lives. Amy came to DNAngels for assistance with a friend’s case and found a home as a volunteer. She decided then and there she wanted to be part of the DNAngels because she felt it was a wonderful organization and it would help her continue her personal journey in helping others.

Amy is a devoted wife, and loving mother of 3 children (29, 21, 20) and 1 step (23), loving grandmother of 3 (14, 10, 4). She currently works as a Special Education Director and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and a Masters in Education. She volunteers as a Parent Representative for Family Children First Council in Trumbull County, and participates in Trumbull County’s Early Childhood Community. She loves spending time with her family, solving tough problems, and scrapbooking. She was born in Kansas City, MO and comes from a large extended family of 3 sisters 1 brother and 2 step–sisters. She moved to NE Ohio in 1988, but her plans are to relocate someplace warmer VERY SOON.
