Trisha began a search for her biological father in 2018 after doing a 23andme DNA test for fun along with her husband to learn more about her ethnic roots. She never knew her biological father or any information about him, not even a name. So, thinking it was impossible, she never thought about searching for him. At the time, she was unaware of the DNA match capabilities that came along with these commercial DNA tests.
Once she received her results and DNA matches, she discovered the possibility of these matches connecting her with her biological father. The simple fun she thought she would discover in her ethic background quickly turned into a passion for genealogy research. She spent a lot of time researching and building her family tree, and contacting her matches. She made a lot of new family connections but none that helped her narrow down who her father was.
In 2020 she discovered DNAngels and became a client as her search hit continuous dead ends and brick walls. Soon after becoming a client, she became a DNAngel volunteer. While the DNAngels worked her case, and narrowed her biological father down to 2 brothers, Trisha continued using her passion of genealogy research to assist the Angels with research and supporting other DNAngels clients with their searches.
Trisha has also helped several family members, including newly found family on her paternal side with geological research and building their family trees. She believes that family trees are important family artifacts that can and should be passed down to future generations.
Aside from genealogy and working with DNAngels, Trisha spends her time with her family, her husband Mario and their five kids. She is also employed full-time in the IT industry and when she is not working, her family enjoys spending time outdoors, on a beach, camping or boating.
