Adrian Kershaw is a Search Angel and Genetic Genealogist. Adrian was drawn to genetic genealogy before she knew it as a discipline, as part of her search for answers in her own family. Motivated to help her half-brother, Adrian began searching for his biological father via traditional means, finding only dead ends. After learning about DNA testing and its role in determining kinship, she was finally able to locate her brother’s biological father and additional siblings after they both did DNA tests. Adrian even had a DNA surprise herself last year, gaining a half-sister, which led her to find DNAngels. Through these profoundly complex and emotional experiences, Adrian developed a passion for empowering people through knowledge of ancestry and analyzing at-home DNA results. Adrian found that she has an innate talent for the multi-faceted puzzles of genetic genealogy. In 2021 she completed a 15-week intensive certificate program in Genealogical Research from Boston University’s Center for Professional Education, which led her to DNAngels in February of 2022, where she continues to develop her skills.
Diagnosed late in life with ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder, Adrian joins the growing numbers of adults who have found their diagnoses empowering and illuminating later in life.
