Born and raised in Pittsburg, PA, Lisa has always had a love for details, solving mysteries, finding solutions, organizing, and tying up loose ends.
She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design in 1998, and worked as a graphic designer in the advertising and retail industries before opening a design studio and letterpress print shop in 2006. Her design work has been featured in national magazines including Marie Claire, Seventeen, People, in The Washington Post, and on numerous lifestyle and design blogs. Her design studio was profiled in the 2010 book Reinventing Letterpress (Charlotte Rivers, RotoVision). She is also the recipient of several AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts) design awards.
Lisa’s DNA journey began in 2021 when she was contacted by Search Angel Heidi Billingsly Keuper, who was working on a case with one of Lisa’s DNA matches from Ancestry.com. The two immediately bonded over a shared love of problem solving, internet sleuthing, and sarcastic humor. It was through Heidi and Laura Olmsted, DNAngels Founder and Executive Director, that the 73-year-old mystery of Lisa’s paternal grandfather was solved! Providing answers to her father, who was adopted at birth in 1949. It was truly a gift and had a profound impact on Lisa. She was hooked and knew she wanted to help people the same way DNAngels had helped her father and her.
Lisa was warmly welcomed into the DNAngels family in February 2022. As an Intake Specialist, Lisa is the first contact with many potential clients, and feels honored to not only represent the organization, but to have the opportunity to lend a sympathetic ear and help people begin their journey toward the answers that are so very important to them. She feels she has found her true calling in combining her love of problem solving with the reward of helping others find their truth. She is excited to learn everything possible about Genetic Genealogy from some of the very best in the industry, and her ultimate goal is to graduate to Search Angel.
